Although she could use room for improvement, she has developed leaps and bounds and created a style unique to her own design that has gained the eye of a small but loyal audience. In 2007, she entered a fan comic contest with a four-page comic titled "The Bait to Learning" and finalized as one of 10 finalists. This contest was an excellent opportunity to explore yet another art medium used in comic illustration known as screen toning. Chelsea took up web design as a hobby in eighth grade, opening up her imagination and creativity. This new medium allowed her to incorporate her artwork into graphics and layout designs as well as strengthen her knowledge of Photoshop. She taught herself html coding, launching her first functional web site in 2005. In college, she furthered her knowledge of web design and the multimedia genre, gaining knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash, and Illustrator. Nearing the end of her high school years, she discovered yet another skill that caught her passion known as cosplay (an abbreviation of Costume Play). She began to put her efforts into successful costume creation of movie and cartoon characters. Today, her skills continue to grow and improve, receiving commissions from all her skill categories; from illustrations and web design to costumes for others and web site maintenance. She is presently trying to restart a comic featured on Sharky's Digest that is about her shark stuffed animal as he goes about his daily life in her room.
